Page-52: As-Sarf( الصرف or the transformation of words: The chapters on verb forms):( أبواب الأوزان للأفعال)

 Description of the words which consist of more than three root letters attached to the four root letters:

(ثلاثى مزيد فيه ملحق برباعى)It is of two kinds. Attached to four root letters only and connected to more than four letters.

The words Attached to the four root letters have seven chapters(أبواب) :

1. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of فعللة(Fatha on Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Fatha on Lam )ألجلببة  (To make someone wear Jalabiya)The verb of the past tense is جلبب  (He made someone wear Jalabiya ) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيجلبب  (He makes someone wear Jalabiya/ He will make someone wear Jalabiya).

 2. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of فعنلة(Fatha on Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Fatha on Noon)ألقلنسة  (To make someone put on a cap )The verb of the past tense is قلنس   (He made someone put on a cap) and the verb of the present tense/future tense isيقلنس  (He makes someone put on a cap/ He will make someone put on a cap ).

3. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of فعوعلة(Fatha on Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Fatha on  Wa)   (To make someone put on socks)The verb of the past tense isجورب   (He made someone put on socks) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيجورب  (He makes someone put on socks/He will make someone put on socks).

4. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of فوعلة(Fatha on Fa with Sukun on Wa and Fatha on Ayeen)ألسرولة   (To make someone put on a pyjama or Lungi )The verb of the past tense isسرول   (He made someone put on a pyjama) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيسرول  (He makes someone put on a pyjama /He will make someone put on a pyjama).

5. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of فيعلة (Fatha on Fa with Sukun on Ya and Fatha on Ayeen)ألخيعلة    (To make someone put on a sleeveless shirt )The verb of the past tense isخيعل    (He made someone put on a sleeveless shirt) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع) isيخيعل  (He makes someone put on a sleeveless shirt/ He will make someone put on a sleeveless shirt).

6. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of فعيلة (Fatha on Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Fatha on Ya)ألشريفة    (To cut the mature leaves of the field)The verb of the past tense isشريف    (He cut the mature leaves of the field) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيشريف  (He cuts the mature leaves in the field/He will cut the mature leaves in the field). 7. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of فعلاة (Fatha on Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Fatha on Lam with an additional Alif that changes from Ya to Alif)القلساة which was originally القلسية, then Ya was changed into Alif (To make someone put on a cap)The verb of the past tense isقلسى    (He made someone put on a cap) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع) isيقلسى  (He makes someone put on a cap/He will make someone put on a cap). Thulathi Mazid Fih Mulheq Bihi "تدحرج" (ثلاثى مزيد فيه ملحق به" تدحرج"  ) is of two kinds:                                                       

1. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of تدحرج. (Fatha on Ta and Dal with Sukun on Ha)It is turned into a four–root letter word for additional letters.

2. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of إحرنجم. (Kasrah under Alif and Sukun on Ha with Fatha on Ra) It is turned into a four–root letter word for additional letters. Thulathi Mazid Fih Mulheq Bihi تدحرج((ثلاثى مزيد فيه ملحق به تدحرج)  has eight chapters(أبواب): 1. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of تفعلل(Fatha on Ta and Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Dammah on Lam)التجلبب ( To blow the sheet)The verb of the past tense isتجلبب   (He blew the sheet) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيتجلبب (He blows the sheet /He will blow the sheet). 2. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of تفعنل(Fatha on Ta and Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Dammah on Noon)ألتقلنس(To put on cap) The verb of the past tense is تقلنس   (He put on a cap) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع) isيتقلنس    (Fatha on Noon, He puts on a cap /He will put on a cap ). 3. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of تمفعل(Fatha on Ta and Meem with Sukun on Fa and Dammah on Ayeen)ألتمسكن(Expressing a humiliating condition)The verb of the past tense isتمسكن   (He expressed a state of humiliation) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع) isيتمسكن    (Fatha on Kaf, He expresses a state of humiliation /He will express a state of humiliation). 4. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of تفعلة(Fatha on Ta and Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Dammah on Lam( التعفرت (To be malignant and cunning)The verb of the past tense isتعفرت   (He became malignant and cunning) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيتعفرت    (Fatah on Ra, He becomes malignant and cunning /He will be malignant and cunning). 5. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of تفوعل (Fatha on Ta and Fa with Sukun on Wa and Dammah on Ayeen)التجورب (To put on socks )The verb of the past tense isتجورب  (He put on socks ) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيتجورب    (Fatah on Ra, He puts on socks /He will put on socks). 6. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of تفعول (Fatha on Ta and Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Dammah on Wa)التسرول (To put on pyjama)The verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isتسرول  (He put on a Pajama) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيتسرول    (Fatha on Ra, He puts on a pyjama/He will put on a Pajama). 7. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of تفيعل (Fatha on Ta and Fa with Sukun on Ya and Dammah on Ayeen)التخيعل (To put on a shirt without sleeve) The verb of the past tense isتخيعل  (He put on sleeveless shirt ) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيتخيعل    (Fatah on Ra, He puts on sleeveless shirt/ He will put on sleeveless shirt). 8. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of تفعل(Fatha on Ta and Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and two Kasrah under Lam. Originally it was تفعلى (Fatha on Ta and Fa with Sukun on Ayeen and Dammah on Lam) التقلسى  (Kasrah under Seen, To put on cap) The verb of the past tense isتقلسى  (He put on a cap) and the verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)isيتقلسى    (He puts on a cap/He will put on a cap). Thulathi Mazid Fih Mulheq Bihi إحرنجم has two chapters(أبواب) 1. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of إفعنلال (Kasrah under Alif with Sukun on Fa and Kasrah under Ayeen with Sukun on Noon) ألإقعنساس (To step behind too much). The verb of the past tense is إقعنسس (He stepped behind too much). The verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)is يقعنسس (Kasrah under Seen, He steps behind too much/He will step behind too much). 2. This chapter (باب) comes in the form of إفعنلاء (Kasrah under Alif with Sukun on Fa and Kasrah under Ayeen with Sukun on Noon) ألإسلنقاء (Sleeping on the back) The verb of the past tense is إسلنقى (He slept on the back). The verb of the present /future tense (مضارع)is يسلنقى(Kasrah under Qaf, He sleeps on the back /He will sleep on the back). ( These are 42 chapters for forming different types of verbs. To  know  more one has to study the books of Sarf( (الصرف, where everything is explained in detail)
